Alors que se tient cette semaine la JP Morgan Healthcare Conference à San Franscisco, un événement très couru des spécialistes du secteur, les Français devraient être bien représentés. Les entreprises de biotechnologies du Vieux Continent ont en effet l’habitude d’aller voir ce qui se fait aux Etats-Unis, où cette industrie y est plus développée et surtout d’aller y chercher des investisseurs. « La capitalisation du secteur de la biotechnologie aux Etats-Unis tourne autour de 400 milliards de dollars contre 80 milliards en Europe », explique Sébastien Lalevée, associé gérant de Financière Arbevel. La société Cellectics est un des derniers exemples en date. Spécialisée dans le génome et déjà cotée à Paris, elle a annoncé le 8 janvier son projet de cotation sur le Nasdaq.

“Eli Lilly marque un nouveau point dans la guerre que se livrent les géants des traitements contre le diabète. Le laboratoire américain a conclu une alliance avec la biotech française Adocia pour co-développer une insuline ultra-rapide pour traiter les diabètes de type 1 et 2. Galvanisée par cet accord, qui peut sur la durée lui rapporter plus d’un demi milliard de dollars, l’action de la société lyonnaise avait pris 45 % vendredi à 15h30 Paris.”
